Draft Plan Bay Area 2040 Open Houses

Description: Plan Bay Area is a road map to help San Francisco Bay Area cities and counties preserve the character of our diverse communities while addressing the challenges of future population growth. Each open house will feature multiple stations at which participants will be able to view displays; ask questions; and offer comments on the Draft Plan’s goals, proposed growth patterns, transportation investment strategy, and key actions identified to address ongoing and long-term regional challenges. Affordable Transit for Low-Income Riders

For most households in the Bay Area, transportation is the third-largest monthly expense, behind housing and food, and when transit is out of reach, its promise — access to opportunity — cannot be realized. Hear a panel of experts discuss the challenges that low-income riders face when paying for transit, and the potential solutions to make transit more affordable. More Information

Complete Streets Workshop

Description: Having difficulty implementing Complete Streets improvements in your jurisdiction? Want help understanding how your local Complete Streets policy can lead to multimodal improvements? Want to learn more about innovative design treatments? Join us for a half day workshop examining these issues and learning how to move Complete Streets planning efforts from policy and concept to on-the-ground improvements. Examples of successful outreach and design strategies from the Bay Area will be highlighted. This workshop is geared towards planners, engineers, and anyone else interested in Complete Streets implementation.

This is the second of four Complete Streets workshop that will take place around the region. This is the only workshop that will take place in the East Bay. All four workshops will have the same curriculum.
