Carma Project

Thousands of people in the Bay Area try casual carpooling every day. The riders ride essentially for free but usually chip in for bridge tolls. The driver gets to drive in the carpool lane. Everybody gets to save time. MTC is sponsoring a pilot project in three counties to take casual carpooling to the next step: Real Time Car Sharing... where an app on your phone shows you people who are heading to your same destination.
