Introducing MTC's New Website

Welcome to the modernized website for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and our offshoots, the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) and the Service Authority for Freeways and Expressways (SAFE). We have optimized the site for mobile devices, so that you can easily access our meetings, travel services and news while you’re on the go. We’ve also simplified the layout for easy navigation.

While the look is light and airy, you’ll find in-depth news coverage under What’s Happening, and under Our Work, info on more than 100 MTC-sponsored projects, programs, services and initiatives designed to improve the transportation network and foster sustainability across the Bay Area. The Getting Around tab brings together MTC’s suite of innovative travel services, while the Data Tools tab is a researcher’s dream, with maps and stats galore. You’ll want to bookmark our new Meetings app, with a chronological list of upcoming MTC meetings, meeting materials and a widget for listening live as our commissioners deliberate. Getting involved is easier than ever under our Public Participation page, and a career in transportation is just a couple clicks away with our Jobs Board. Meanwhile, our Photo Gallery and Video Gallery take you on a visual journey all around the Bay Area, and introduce you to some of the people who are working hard to make the region more livable and the transportation network better functioning.

Our new website is just one of the ways that we’re ringing in 2016. Come March 2016, we will move to a new headquarters in San Francisco along with two sister regional agencies, the Association of Bay Area Governments and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. We will be pooling our resources and brainpower to address the defining issues of our day, including climate change, the housing affordability squeeze and traffic. We invite your comments on this new website, at info@bayareametro.gov, and encourage you to sign up for alerts about new features and stories.
