511 TRANSIT WINS CGIA AWARD

The California Geographic Information Association (CGIA) has selected the transit.511.org portal as the recipient of this year's CGIA Outstanding Internet GIS Presentation Award.

Since 1994, CGIA has annually recognized the leaders and innovators of GIS in California. In selecting this Web project from among the many qualified nominates from around the state, the CGIA Awards Committee cited the portal's ease of use, clarity of purpose, integration of diverse information and overall aesthetic presentation as the key “best practices” strengths of the Web site.

The award was formally presented at this year's CalGIS Conference, held on Friday, April 7, 2006 in Santa Barbara.
