San Mateo-Hayward Bridge Widening

Project Description:
Construction began in 1999 to widen the low-rise trestle section and eastern approach of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge from four lanes to six lanes, with full shoulders, in order to match the existing lane configuration of the western approach and high-rise section. The widening has been completed and is now open to traffic.
