Interstate 880/State Route 92 Interchange Reconstruction

Project Description:
As part of an effort to improve traffic flow and to relieve congestion on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and its approaches, RM 1 identified the need to reconstruct the Interstate 880/State Route 92 interchange. The project will modify the existing cloverleaf interchange to increase capacity and improve safety and traffic operations.

Reconstruction of the interchange is being done in stages so that the existing roadway can remain open to traffic while work is under way. The project was completed in October 2011.
